Liturgies at Blessed Carlo Acutis embody the vibrancy and spiritual life of the parish. The time, talent, and treasure of our liturgical ministries are evident in abundance: musicians, artists, lectors, ushers, etc. — all join to manifest the many dimensions and aspects of the Body of Christ. These ministries meet regularly throughout the year to pray, plan and prepare for the Sundays, feasts, and seasons of the liturgical year.
Below are descriptions of each ministry. If you’re ready to serve in one of these important roles, please consider raising your voice in praise and reaching out to us!
For more information, please contact Michael White at 773-486-4300, by email or see him after Mass on Sunday.
Our Liturgical & Music Ministries
Greeters are our “Directors of First Impressions!” They welcome you to church, hand you a hymnal, and take up the collection.
Lectors proclaim the Living Word of God. In many ways the lector sets the tone for the liturgy by preparing the stories from our long history.
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion help the Priest/Deacon distribute the Body and Blood during Mass.
Altar Servers carry the cross, the processional candles, hold the book for the priest celebrant (when he is not at the altar), and MORE! Altar Server Ministry is open to boys and girls toward the end of the 3rd Grade and up, as well as High School.
Live Stream Ministry at SJB are young members of our faith community who are interested in being a video producer for the Live Streaming of Sunday Mass at SJB. Knowledge of the Mass and use of an iPad are needed.
Cantor & Choir
Cantors and Choir Members enhance and support the faithful assembled in sung prayer.
